COVID 19

Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) is a highly infectious respiratory illness caused by the SARS-CoV-2 virus. It primarily spreads through respiratory droplets and can affect individuals of all ages, with severe complications more common in the elderly and those with underlying health conditions. COVID-19 affects the lungs and can lead to inflammation, pneumonia, and, in severe cases, acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS). Common symptoms include fever, dry cough, shortness of breath, fatigue, loss of taste or smell, and body aches.

At our hospital, we provide comprehensive diagnosis and treatment for COVID-19 to manage symptoms, reduce complications, and support recovery. Diagnosis starts with a clinical assessment and is confirmed using RT-PCR or rapid antigen tests. Additional investigations such as chest X-rays or CT scans, blood tests (like D-dimer, CRP), and oxygen saturation monitoring help determine the severity of the disease.

Although there is no specific cure for COVID-19, early detection and timely treatment significantly improve outcomes. Management includes antiviral medications, corticosteroids to reduce lung inflammation, and oxygen therapy for patients with breathing difficulty or low oxygen levels. In cases of secondary bacterial infection, antibiotics may be prescribed.

Supportive care is essential in COVID-19 treatment, including proper nutrition, hydration, and rest. For patients with moderate to severe illness, hospitalization may be required to ensure continuous monitoring and advanced respiratory support, such as high-flow oxygen or mechanical ventilation.

Vaccination is the most effective way to prevent severe COVID-19 illness. We provide up-to-date vaccination services and encourage all eligible individuals to get fully vaccinated and receive booster doses as recommended.

In critically ill patients, especially those experiencing long COVID symptoms (post-COVID syndrome), we offer rehabilitation programs that include breathing exercises, physical therapy, and psychological support to aid long-term recovery.

Our multidisciplinary team of physicians, pulmonologists, infectious disease specialists, and respiratory therapists works collaboratively to offer personalized, evidence-based care for each COVID-19 patient. We are dedicated to helping individuals recover safely, regain strength, and return to a healthy life with confidence and support.
