Sleep Disorder
Sleep disorders are conditions that affect the quality, timing, and duration of sleep, leading to daytime fatigue, poor concentration, irritability, and various health issues. Common types of sleep disorders include insomnia (difficulty falling or staying asleep), sleep apnea (breathing interruptions during sleep), restless legs syndrome, narcolepsy (sudden sleep attacks), and circadian rhythm disorders.
At our hospital, we offer specialized evaluation and treatment for all types of sleep disorders. Our multidisciplinary team, including sleep specialists, pulmonologists, neurologists, and psychologists, works together to identify the underlying causes and provide individualized care.
Diagnosis starts with a detailed medical history, sleep assessment questionnaires, and sleep diaries. In many cases, we recommend an overnight sleep study or polysomnography, which monitors brain activity, heart rate, breathing patterns, oxygen levels, and body movements during sleep. For sleep apnea, a home sleep test may also be considered.
Treatment depends on the type of disorder:
Insomnia is managed through cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT-I), lifestyle changes, and sometimes sleep aids.
Sleep apnea is treated with CPAP (Continuous Positive Airway Pressure) therapy, weight management, and in some cases, surgery.
Restless legs syndrome and narcolepsy are treated with specific medications and sleep hygiene practices.
Circadian rhythm disorders may require light therapy, melatonin supplements, or adjustment of daily routines.
We also focus on non-pharmacological methods such as relaxation techniques, stress management, and establishing a consistent sleep schedule.
Sleep is essential for physical, mental, and emotional well-being. At our center, we are committed to diagnosing the root causes of sleep disturbances and helping patients regain restful, restorative sleep. With expert guidance and advanced diagnostic tools, we help you wake up refreshed and live healthier.
